Bac Ninh province to become industrialized

Northern Bac Ninh province has set to become a modern industrialized province with technical infrastructure of centrally-run city standards.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung has recently approved the locality's master plan on socio-economic development to 2020 with orientations towards 2030.

Accordingly, the province aims for an average 10.5% economic growth in the 2011-2030 period and 13% by 2015. 

It strives for a GDP per capita of VND146.2 million (US$6,560) while industry, service and agriculture will make up 73.2%, 23% and 3.8% in the GDP composition respectively.

The province will focus on achieving sustainable industrial development and a growth rate of 11.9% in the 2016-2020 period and 6.8% in the 2021-2030 period, on average.

The service sector is expected to grow 12.8% in the 2016-2020 period and 13.5% in the 2021-2030 period, while total turnover of retails and services will be VND90 trillion (US$4.23 billion) by 2020.

The future population will live in the centre of Bac Ninh, which is based on Bac Ninh city, Tu Son town and Tien Du district, three satellite towns of Cho, Pho Moi and Ho and two rural areas of Gia Binh and Luong Tai.

On rural development, it plans to have 20% of communes to be qualified as new rural areas in accordance with the national standard, 30% in the 2016-2020 period and 50% by 2020.
