A street carnival is set to get underway around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi on July 29 to mark the 10th anniversary of the city's administrative boundary expansion.
The event is scheduled to take place from 8am to 11am on the streets surrounding Hoan Kiem Lake. The carnival will feature key events such as drumming, puppetry, dances of the elderly, martial art performances, and circus and magic performances.
All activities will be held in open spaces such as Ly Thai To Square, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, and Hang Bai - Trang Tien intersection. Artists will also take part in a parade around Hoan Kiem Lake.

Synopsis of the movie: “Woman in the Dunes” is directed by Hiroshi Teshigahara and based on a novel of the same name by Kōbō Abe. The novel was published in 1962, and the film was released in 1964.
“Woman in the Dunes” is a modern version of the myth of Sisyphus, the man condemned by the gods to spend eternity rolling a boulder to the top of a hill, only to see it roll back down.

You are invited to the film screening “La Prochaine Fois Je Viserai le Coeur”, a thriller film based on a true story, starring French actor Guillaume Canet.
Film synopsis: For several months, between 1978 and 1979, the inhabitants of the Oise in France live in a state of terror and anxiety: a maniac is on the prowl, and young women are his prey. After trying to run over several women with his car, he finally manages to injure and kill female hitch-hikers he picks up at random.
The man is everywhere and nowhere, eluding the traps set up by investigators and avoiding roadblocks. He’s so good at escaping because he is in fact a timid, young cop who lives an ordinary life and doesn’t stand out amongst his squad. As a model cop, he is responsible for investigating his own crimes until the maps of his murderous journey slip from his grasp.
