Eight European and nine Vietnamese documentaries will be screened in Hanoi from June 4-12 and HCM City from June 21-29 during a documentary film festival.
The European-Vietnamese film fest, the sixth of its kind, is organized by EUNIC, the network of the European cultural institutes and embassies, in co-ordination with the National Film Studio for Documentary and Science Film Vietnam.
The films will alternate emphasising the differences in the cinematic language and topics, as well as the common theme: the love of understanding the world through images.
The festival will also include workshops for young Vietnamese filmmakers due to take place in Hanoi on June 7 and in HCM City on June 22.
It will introduce five selected films of talented young Southeast Asian filmmakers from Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
