The fourth phase of a long-term education project between Vietnam and Russia is underway, expected to help consolidate cooperation in science and technology between the two countries.
At a press briefing to launch the fourth phase in Hanoi on September 14-18, nine Russian universities involved in the project introduced their profiles. Representatives of the universities will hold working sessions with their Vietnamese colleagues in Hanoi and engage in exchanges at senior high schools in the capital city, Hai Phong city, Hoa Binh and Thai Nguyen provinces in the north.
At the meetings, the two sides will discuss organising conferences and information regarding the Olympics, student exchanges and cooperation between universities.
Jointly carried out by Russia’s cooperation agency and the Vietnam Ministry of Education and Training within the framework of an agreement between the two countries’ Presidents, the “Russian universities” project looks towards universal education in the Southeast Asian nation.
Under the project, more than 50 representatives from Russian universities have been dispatched to Vietnam. Russian institutions also inked many cooperation frameworks with leading universities in the country. This year, the Russian Government will grant 795 scholarships to Vietnamese nationals. The figure is expected to climb to 1,000 in 2018.
