The Hanoi department shared experience with Cambodian journalists in the handling of fake news on Vietnamese and foreign social networks.
Cambodia expects to learn Hanoi's experiences in management of media, social network and online TV service, Vice Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Information Tey Maly said at a recent meeting on November 20 with officials of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications in Vietnam’s capital city.

Tey Maly briefed the host about the press industry in his country, and highly valued Hanoi media outlet development and achievements.
The Cambodian journalists put forth a series of issues on how to deal with news and news sources. The Hanoi side shared experiences in the handling of fake news on Vietnamese and foreign social networks.
For his part, Director of the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Ngoc Ky said 20 press agencies are operating in Hanoi, ranging from printed newspapers, radio, television and online press.
Over the years, local press agencies have fulfilled their role in raising voices of local residents. Aside from traditional press outlets, Hanoi has also been enhancing the development of online newspapers to keep up with global trends, Ky noted.
He stressed that the Cambodian journalist delegation’s working visit opens chances for further cooperation of the press industry of Vietnam and Cambodia in the time ahead, thereby contributing positively to Vietnam – Cambodia media development.
Ky expressed his wish that the Hanoi Department of Information and Communications will have more opportunities to exchange experiences with the Cambodian side in the future.
