Jeffrey and Karen Savage, 88SQUARED
88SQUARED, the piano duo of Jeffrey and Karen Savage, won many awards at prestigious international competitions, including a Special Mention Award at Concours Grieg International Competition in Norway, where they performed with members of the Oslo Philharmonic. The married pianists both completed masters and doctoral degrees at The Juilliard School and they are both associate professors of piano at Washington State University in Pullman. 88SQUARED has received critical praise from many magazines, and their performances have been broadcast on National Public Radio stations across the US. 88SQUARED recently gave the international premieres of Lowell Liebermann’s Sonata for Two Pianos (2011) in Singapore, New York City, Washington, and Canada, and was invited by the renowned composer to record his complete two-piano works on Albany Records.
Dr. Shannon Scott is Assistant Professor of Clarinet and Music History and clarinetist for Solstice Wind Quintet at Washington State University School of Music. Part of the Scott/Garrison Duo with flutist Leonard Garrison, they are winners of the 2016 American Prize for best recorded performances, chamber music division, third place, and their three CDs, Barn Dances, Perennials and Chimera, are on the Albany Record label. Scott serves as principal clarinet of the Walla Walla Symphony and has also performed with the Spokane and Washington-Idaho Symphonies. Dr. Scott holds degrees from Juilliard, Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, Conservatoire Regional Marcel Dupre, Yale University and Northwestern University.
