Conference on training positive prevention of Zika diseases held in Hanoi

Hanoi Department of Health has recently organized an online conference to train supervision, early diagnosis and positive prevention of Zika diseases to public, private hospitals and health stations in the Capital City.

Director of Hanoi Department of Health Nguyen Khac Hien made speech at the online conference that Vietnam has recorded nine Zika virus cases. To prevent Zika virus from entering the capital city, the city should proactively deploy prevention measures. 

At the training course, leading medical units, including Hanoi Center for Preventive Medicine, Hanoi Obstetrics Hospital, Hanoi Center for Reproductive Healthcare, Dong Da General Hospital proposed measures to proactively monitor patients suspected of having Zika virus, prevent diseases in the community; gave guidance on prenatal screening for pregnant women to prevent Zika virus as well as examination, consulting, managing pregnant women suspected with Zika virus in the community, and diagnosis, treatment for patients infected with Zika virus.

He also asked health units in the area to further promote prevention of Zika-related diseases, dengue fever. Centers for Preventive Medicine will cooperate with Health Centers in districts to strengthen disease supervision in the community; launch campaigns of spraying chemicals for disease prevention and control; enhance communication work via diversified forms on mass media so as to encourage local people to kill mosquito, mosquito larval. Moreover, public and private hospitals, healthcare establishments will strengthen measures to early detect, treat Zika virus cases; equip with full vehicles, medicines for treatment.
