Da Nang International Firework Festival 2017 will last longer than previous years

Da Nang International Firework Festival 2017 (DIFF) will take place on April 30, the day of the 42nd reunification anniversary (30/4/1975 - 30/4/2017) and International Workers’ Day (May 1).

Da Nang International Firework Festival has been an annual event of Da Nang city since 2008 with many spectacular cultural and artistic activities. This year, the firework festival will last almost throughout  summer in  nearly 2 months with a lot of more exciting cultural, artistic and cuisine activities than the previous festivals.
In  much larger scale and stature, Da Nang International Firework Competition (DIFC) has been renamed “Da Nang International Firework Festival 2017”. By renaming, the whole festival organizational model has been restructured in terms of time, space, personnel, funding and the  program design. This change is under Da Nang City People’s Committee’s plan to attract 1 million international tourists to the event.
DIFF 2017 will be the greatest Festival with many new features in the organization method.
DIFF 2017 will be the greatest Festival with many new features in the organization method.
This will be one of the world-class cultural and artistic and entertainment  with the ability to attract a large number of tourists and become a sustainable destination. Organized annually instead of semi-annually from 2017 onwards, DIFF will join the Standard Festivals of Cultures, Arts, Sports and Entertainment of the International Festival Forum (IFF)– UNESCO.
“Change in theme and celebration time will facilitate tourist arrival  during the event. However, it is an expensive long-term program, so Da Nang City leaders will require the travel agencies to review, calculate and focus on the theme of the festival. We also require them to  develop and create appropriate cultural values for the effective organization of the next Festivals.
Previously, DIFC was a firework competition that took place in 2-3 days. DIFF 2017 will make Da Nang a festival city and a cultural space with firework performances as the core event  during almost two months. Five elements of Chinese astrology: Kim (Metal)- Moc (Wood) - Thuy (Water)- Hoa (Fire) – Tho (Earth) are selected as as the theme for all 8 teams to promote their  pyrotechnic creativity and design skills.
The Competition is open to  creativity  and unlimited theme but the core  is the five elements of the Universe.
One of the biggest changes in the content of this event is the series of events that will take place during the firework festival in all districts of Da Nang city:
Cham cultural festival: 8:00 – 20:00 on April 26th, May 3rd, May 10th, May 17th, May 24th, May 31st, June 07th, June 14th, June 21st; Venue: Cham Museum.

There are a variety of unique cultural and artistic showdown  of different country and continent, such as the Aboriginal art troupe from Oceania, the trumpet art group from Switzerland.
International Food Festival: The Food under the theme of the Five Elements of the Universe: 8:00 – 22:00 continuously from April 29th to June 30th; Venue: East of Dragon Bridge; There are about 500 dishes from all over the North, Central, South Vietnam and other countries participating in the Festival organized by the theme of the Festival.
International Sculpture Festival: Theme of “Waking Up the Soul of Stones”, Time: 9:00 - 22:00 from April 29th to June 30th; Venue: West of Dragon Bridge.
Beer Festival: Theme of “Inspiration”; Time: 9:00 – 22:00 from April 29th to June 30th; Venue: Ba Na Hills.
The stage of the firework nights will be decorated as dramatic as ever before in the style of the Five Elements (Theme of the Festival)to the world leading technology, which brings about an unprecedented sound, light and firework party. It is designed “3 in 1” either in the air, in the water and along the two banks of Han River with the stand of over 22,000 seats.
The event is expected to bring revenue from tourism and associated services. According to the Travel Division – Da Nang Department of Tourism, DIFF 2017 would attract about 300,000 tourists, 82 thousand of them from abroad,  on the opening day 30/4,  84.6% higher than last year. The total number of tourists to stay in Da Nang City is expected  to be about 15.8% higher than that in the same period of 2016.
“International Firework Festival Da Nang 2017 will be more magnificent than ever. Not only the name is changed but the contents are also different through a cultural, artistic and sport space to connect the community. It is such space that will create a unique celebration and become a “brand” of Da Nang City”, Director Le Quy Duong, General Director of DIFF 2017 program emphasized.
