Addressing the ceremony, deputy culture minister Ta Quang Dong noted that though the event did not gather all art troupes in the country, it drew many young actors from both State and private troupes.

“Their well prepared performances show their passion,” he said. “We strongly believe in the next generation of the art.”
Meritorious Artist Le Chuc, chairman of the jury highly appreciated the professionalism of the young artists.
“Besides classic excerpts, contestants also chose plays with topics on revolution, modern life and foreign literature,” he said. “Many of them played difficult roles that can expose promising voices.”
However, he said many contestants still failed to act well with their singing showing a lack of skills.
He suggested the ministry host more training classes for the young artists.
Six gold medals were given to Nguyen Thi Luan (Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre), Nguyen Hoai Thanh (Young World Theatre), Nguyen Thi Thuy (Viet Nam Cai Luong Theatre), Nguyen Thi Ky (Dong Thap Province’s Art & Culture Centre), Nguyen Thi Thu My (Long An Province’s Art & Culture Centre), and Nguyen Phuoc Du (Dong Nai Province’s Art Theatre).
