The fifth edition of the Dragon Dance Festival is slated to take place on October 6 at the Statue of Suicide Squad in Dinh Tien Hoang and Hang Dau T-conjunction.

This year, the Dragon Dance Festival is expected to be held at a large scale with registrations from 15 districts so far. Some districts will organize several simple and thrifty events in neighborhoods and also at municipal level.

Each team will compete with an independent performance of dragons or four celestial animals including tortoise, lion, phoenix, and dragon.

According to the organizer, the participants will showcase the beauty and quintessence of this street folk dance to the public.

The festival is also expected to bring more fun and bustle of a traditional cultural event to domestic and foreign visitors to Hanoi on the occasion of the Capital’s Liberation Day, thereby, enhance people’s awareness on preserving and promoting the cultural values which have been kept through generations.

After the competition, the dragon dance teams will parade around the pedestrian zone of Hoan Kiem lake.
