Outstanding literary, art, and press works, along with individuals and collectives advocating for the studying and following of the late President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example were honoured in Hanoi on May 13.
The ceremony, held on the occasion of the leader’s 125th birthday (May 19, 1890), was attended by Politburo and Standing member of the Party Central Committee Le Hong Anh, and Politburo member and Chairman of the Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education Dinh The Huynh.
The first prize was granted to 10 literary, art, and press works and the People’s Police Publishing House which popularised writings on the topic.
Fifty-nine others received the second prize and the third and consolation prizes were given to 87 and 81 works, individuals, and collectives, respectively.
They were among nearly 700 nominees and entries created between April 2013 and the end of March 2015 to encourage the public to follow the late President’s example in various fields.
Winning writers include Professors Vu Khieu, Ha Minh Duc, and Tran Van Binh, and ethnic minority members from the Tay, Nung, Cham, Ede, and Chau Ro groups. Foreigners like Chilean painter Luis Andre Motess Rajas and expatriates in the UK, Australia, and Sri Lanka were also among the awardees.
The award was set up as part of the implementation of the Party’s 11th Congress Resolution and Political Bureau Direction 03-CT/TW on the continued acceleration of the studying and following of President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example.
In May 2013, 136 works, individuals, and collectives from nearly 300 nominees and entries were also honoured with the award.
