Recently, besides sweeping movement of energy saving in the business and administrative offices, buildings, commercial centers and so on, the propaganda of raising awareness of energy saving in the schools in the city of Hanoi is so interested. Initial results has made a positive change in the consciousness of the students.
Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Energy Saving (Hanoi ECC) Hoang Minh Lam said that Hanoi ECC has actively advise city leaders, departments, agencies, county governments, districts and towns in the promulgation of documents guiding the implementation of saving, the use of electricity and energy saving. And to increase awareness of the people, one of the Hanoi ECC content focus is supporting propaganda in schools in the province. The propaganda content for primary and secondary pupils are built in various ways through the exchange program on energy saving and energy efficiency. This year alone, the Center in collaboration with General Electric Company Hanoi (EVN HANOI) to implement power-saving operation at the school such as: Organization "launching ceremony month of power saving in response Earth Hour 2015 and inaugurating model of green classroom ". This is a new model of power-saving, environmental protection being applied in many countries around the world. Specifically, with the motto "Electricity saving rather than light saving" specialist from Amsterdam School and Trung Vuong Secondary School, all the lights of the 19 classrooms are replaced by LED Panel. According to calculations, the benefits of this alternative not only exceeded the standards for lighting specifications but also saves 71.7% energy use.
By synchronization solutions, especially through communication, in nine months of 2015, Hanoi has achieved much success in the work of energy conservation. In which, saving nearly 235 million kWh of electricity, equivalent to 84.81% of the year plan.
