On March 28, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung hosted a reception for Lao Deputy Prime Minister Somsavat Lengsavad, who is leading a Lao business delegation to Vietnam to attend the two countries’ Investment Cooperation Conference 2016.

The host leader proposed the two countries beef up coordination to resolve shortcomings and swiftly put cooperation projects into operation to bring about practical benefits for their people. The Lao guest affirmed that Laos always bears in mind and is grateful for the great and valuable support from Viet Nam. He showed his belief that the bilateral time-honoured friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation will florish.
The Deputy PM also informed the host that at the Viet Nam-Laos Investment Cooperation Conference which drew many representatives from the two countries’ ministries, localities and businesses, the two sides pointed out to difficulties in collaboration and set forth measures to promote economic, trade and investment ties.
PM Dung emphasised that Vietnam and Laos hold great cooperation potential in the fields of economics, trade and investment. The two countries should intensify coordination to address shortcomings and swiftly put cooperation projects into operation to bring about practical benefits for their people, he suggested.
