Hanoi partners with Chinese firm to advance urban development

Hanoi teams up with Pacific Construction to build a smarter, greener future for the city

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh met with Yan Jiehe, Chairman of China's Pacific Construction Group, on December 11 to discuss deepening cooperation in key development projects.

The delegation accompanying Yan included senior executives from a variety of Chinese companies operating in various industries, reflecting a broader interest in investment and cooperation with the Vietnamese capital.

The chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee emphasized the key role of infrastructure in driving urban development and improving the quality of life for residents. In particular, he pointed to the Tu Lien Bridge project as a top-priority infrastructure to boost connectivity between downtown Hanoi and urban areas in the east.

"This is one of the most critical projects for urban mobility," Thanh said during the meeting. "It has a significant impact on the daily lives of our residents, and we are committed to ensuring its timely completion with the highest standards of efficiency and effectiveness."

Yan Jiehe expressed his gratitude for Hanoi's cooperation and support during the preliminary stages of project evaluation and research. He noted the valuable lessons learned from similar projects in Haiphong and emphasized the importance of balancing infrastructure development with environmental sustainability.

"Our company is committed to working closely with Hanoi to deliver projects that are both effective and environmentally friendly," said Yan. "By focusing on sustainable and innovative solutions, we aim to improve the quality of life for residents while minimizing disruption during construction."

Pacific Construction Group, known for its expertise in large-scale infrastructure projects, reaffirmed its willingness to work with Hanoi on future infrastructure in line with the city's strategic development goals.

The meeting also reflected Hanoi's broader vision for urban modernization and highlighted the importance of strengthening international partnerships. Chairman Tran Sy Thanh and Yan Jiehe explored the potential for knowledge sharing and technological innovation in areas such as smart city solutions and green building practices. Both sides recognized the mutual benefits of such cooperation and its long-term impact on urban planning and sustainability.

The city's mayor reiterated Hanoi's commitment to fostering a strong and enduring partnership with Pacific Construction Group, reflecting a shared vision of driving Hanoi's growth as a modern, connected, and sustainable metropolis.

This commitment is in line with Hanoi's overarching strategy to attract global expertise and investment to support its ambitious development agenda. With major transportation projects and initiatives to improve the urban environment, Hanoi aims to establish itself as a regional hub for innovation and economic progress.
