Exhibition of the country's achievements immerses visitors in the flow of Vietnamese culture

The cultural industry has made many new strides, gradually becoming an important service economic sector, contributing positively to the sustainable development of the country.

THE HANOI TIMES — From folk musical instruments, traditional costumes, to virtual studios and game arenas all blend into the common space of 12 cultural industries at the ongoing National Achievements Exhibition titled "80 Years of Independence-Freedom-Happiness Journey".

Each cultural industry with its own breakthroughs is clearly depicted at the exhibition space "Creation for Construction", a part of the ongoing grand exhibition held at the National Exposition Center in Hanoi's Dong Anh Commune.

The new look of the cultural industry

The National Achievements Exhibition is an unprecedented event, recreating the country's journey over the past 80 years.

The cultural industry is privileged to be reserved for the A Block Exhibition Hall of Vietnam Exposition Center to showcase the achievements of the industry, contributing to the overall development picture of the country.

Until September 5, artists from the Vietnam Drama Theater, the Vietnam Circus Federation, the National Traditional Arts Theater and others will bring to the public attractive art performances including famous excerpts of reformed opera, classical drama, quan ho (love duets), folk songs, and circus performances.

The achievements of 12 cultural industries include advertising, architecture, software and entertainment games, handicrafts, design, cinema, publishing, fashion, performing arts, fine arts, photography and exhibitions, television and radio, and cultural tourism.

The exhibition booths are designed as a continuous cultural flow to depict the journey of Vietnam from traditional roots to modern creativity, and connect cultural industries into a vibrant ecosystem with cultural industries being linked together.

At the Performing Arts exhibition, artists also bring traditional musical instruments and folk songs such as Then singing, Tinh lute, Cheo (traditional operetta) and Tuong (classical drama), and circus shows to the stage, getting the public closer to Vietnam's performing arts.

The Vietnam Cinema exhibition is one of the destinations that attracts a large number of visitors, especially young people.

Here, the space screens 50 Vietnamese films (with English subtitles) for free, gives the public an opportunity to experience modern cinema technologies like motion capture, green screen scenes and virtual reality (VR).

The cinema exhibition space also features the "Digital Film Studio" booth, where many young people are also excited as they can transform into soldiers, ancient roles and cartoon characters.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the exhibition showcases remarkable and breakthrough developments in the cultural industry, which is now seen as an endogenous driving force for the national economy.

Cultural industry - endogenous driving force

The exhibition of 12 cultural industries is an opportunity for the public to explore, clearly visualize and immerse themselves in the vibrant life of the Vietnamese creative cultural flow.

At the exhibition, visitors acknowledge that the cultural industry is an important resource to promote socio-economic development, maximize Vietnamese intellectual property, and increase employment by producing more diverse and high-quality products and services.

People's Artist Tong Toan Thang, Director of the Vietnam Circus Federation, said that Vietnamese circus artists are proud to join and perform at this exhibition.

With attractive circus performances during the exhibition, the artists hope to convey to domestic and international audiences their unique creativity.

They want to spread Vietnam's traditional cultural values ​​associated with the desire to enter a new era, so that artists have the luggage to embark on the journey of Vietnam's cultural industry.

"With the investment and guidance of the Party and State, we expect that the Vietnamese cultural industry will develop further, and local artists will receive worth support to devote their best to the development of culture and the journey of spreading Vietnamese culture to the world," Thang said.

Meritorious Artist Kieu Minh Hieu, Director of the Vietnam Drama Theater, shared the same feeling.

"We are very happy and proud that dramatic art has a space to reach the public here. This is an opportunity for us to promote drama and other art forms to a large number of domestic and international visitors," he said.

Hanoi-based artisan introduces embroidery art to the exhibition.

Director Phi Tien Son, who directed the wartime film Dao, Pho va Piano (Peach Blossom, Pho and Piano), was moved as the exhibition shows off the development journey of the film industry.

“Coming here, visitors will understand more about cinema with filming techniques, modern equipment, virtual studios, and digital studios. These are the things that filmmakers of my age could not even dream of having,” he said.

The development of cultural industry is a global trend, an important driving force for the socio-economic development of many countries.

Visiting the display of the achievements and developments of the 12 cultural industries at the National Achievements Exhibition makes regulatory agencies, local businesses, organizations, creative individuals and the public more aware of the importance of cultural industry in socio-economic development and current integration context.
