The Lilama 2 Technical and Technology College has become the first Vietnamese school to be accredited as a member of the European Association of Institutes for Vocational Training (EVBB).

Under the certificate of recognition granted on November 20, Lilama 2, based in Long Thanh district, the southern province of Dong Nai, will offer international training programmes achieving the European Qualifications Framework (EQF).

After graduating, students will receive Germany’s qualifications accepted in 100 countries around the world.

From the 2014 academic year, the school provides seven majors, including metal cutting, electronic engineering, industrial engineering, industrial electronics, welding, and telecommunication and optical transmission techniques, said Le Van Hien, Rector of the College.

Lilama 2, one of the first Centres of Excellence for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Vietnam, has a total investment of 30 million ERU (37.6 million USD) funded by the German and French governments.

Besides, the college coordinated with Bosch Vietnam Company to carry out a pilot dual training programme of Germany for 46 Vietnamese students to meet higher demand for skilled workers.
