Cultivating novel elements and carefully incorporating international experiences that are appropriate to Vietnam's circumstances is crucial.
With over one million teachers working tirelessly to advance education, the Vietnamese government will always take a special interest in this area and work with the education sector to address issues and concerns as they arise.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh made the statement at an online and face-to-face conference held by the Ministry of Education and Training on August 19 to review the sector's performance in the 2023-2024 school year and set tasks for the 2024-2025 school year.

The Prime Minister urged the education sector to effectively implement the motto: "Students are the center, teachers the engine, schools the support, families the fulcrum, and society the foundation."
Chinh stressed that one of the main directions of the Vietnamese government is the fundamental and comprehensive renovation of education and training
It is crucial to build on and capitalize on past successes, develop new factors, selectively absorb international experiences that are appropriate for Vietnam's conditions and situation, and resolve incorrect concepts and erroneous practices. The solutions must be factual, coherent, and have clear priorities and focus points in addition to a well-structured route and appropriate steps, according to Chinh.
He called on ministries, agencies, and localities to continue to review, amend, and supplement regulations, mechanisms, policies, and legal frameworks in a timely manner to facilitate innovation in education and training while reviewing the implementation of 10 years of fundamental and comprehensive renewal of education and training.
The government leader called for adding incentives for teachers, including financial solutions to support preschool teachers and those living in remote and disadvantaged areas, and for improving teaching facilities and equipment there, especially digital infrastructure and internet connectivity.
Prime Minister Chinh said he believed the sector would fulfill all assigned tasks during the academic year 2024-2025.
For his part, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son said that in the 2023-2024 academic year, the enrollment rate of preschool children increased by about 5% year on year. Nearly 99% of pupils nationwide have completed primary school curricula.
All provinces and first-level cities met universal primary education standards, Son emphasized, highlighting some outstanding results from the 2023 school year2024, comprehensively evaluating the results of 10 years of innovation and proposing guidelines for the development of education and training in the coming period, which is in line with the local and international context.
"The entire sector continues to promote digital transformation, applying information technology in management and teaching and learning, effectively implementing physical education and school health care, as well as ensuring school safety," the minister said.
