The Ministry of Planning and Investment’s Department has reported that newly-registered and adfitional capital of foreign investors have totalled $4.855 billion between January and April this year.
The total FDI is equivalent to 59.1 percent of last year’s same period.
By April 20, 2014, 390 new projects were licensed with a total registered capital of $3.22 billion, which is equivalent to 65.4 percent of last year’s same period.

As many as 140 projects increased their capital by US$1.62 billion, equivalent to 49.7 percent of the same period of the year just gone.
The processing and manufacturing industries have seen 204 new projects. They had total newly-registered and additional capital of $3.6 billion, accounting for 74.3 percent of total capital registered in the four months.
Real estates and construction ranked second and third with respective investment of $392.3 million and US$237 million.
The Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) projects have disbursed US$4 billion in investment in the first four months of this year, an increase of 6.7 percent over the same period last year.
