Foreigners impress with the second walking street of Hue City.

Hue City in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue opened its second walking route on Pham Ngu Lao - Chu Van An - Vo Thi Sau streets (formerly known as Tay (foreigner) streets) on the night of September 29 after several months of preparation.

Operating on the last three days of the week, the route will operate from 6pm until 2am of the next morning during Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the route will open for pedestrians from 6pm to 12am.
The street stretches over 1km, of which Pham Ngu Lao is 215m long, Chu Van An 350m and Vo Thi Sau 480m. In addition to rearranging tourism services, the city authorities are also mobilising and supporting household businesses to open new forms of services.
The route also features street art and music performances, along with a typical Hue cuisine area. The city will also arranges parking areas for visitors’ vehicles, while providing free of charge parking for locals in these three streets.
According to Nguyen Van Thanh, Chairman of the municipal People's Committee, in order to open the pedestrian area on the famous streets of Hue, the city has spent over VND50 billion investing in lighting system, traffic signs and compensation for over 1km long route.
Thanh expressed his hope that the new walking street will link with the Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking route – the first pedestrian street in Hue, and the upcoming walking street on Truong Tien Bridge, which holds much potential and value for tourism, which will form a tourist attraction at night in Hue.
Located on Nguyen Dinh Chieu walking street, along Huong River, Hue night street consists of a wide range of stalls displaying traditional handicrafts, consumer goods, and cuisine. The walking street opening every night from 5pm to 11pm, is  seen as a good place for domestic and foreign tourists to  taste delicious cuisine, purchase eye-catching souvenirs, enjoy  traditional art performances, or just simply discover the night life of the locals.
