The fourth European Literature Days event was launched on May 12 at Nguyen Van Binh Book Street, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, featuring various literary and cultural activities, Voice of Vietnam reported.
The event attracts the participation of 10 European countries namely the UK, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the Belgian Wallonie - Bruxelles region.
Activities regarding the introduction of books are organized at the main stage of the Book Street during the event. In addition, an interactive space was set up to display comic characters where children can draw their favorite characters such as Lucky Luke, Tin Tin, Smurfs, Spirou, Asterix, and others.
The "Book bus" is a place to showcase European literary books that have been translated into Vietnamese, which readers can read on site or borrow to enjoy reading at home. The organizing board also arranges a space to feature a traffic safety playground, book covers and posters of movie adapted from literary works so that children can play motion games. The booths of European literature offer many forms of discounts from 20 to 30%.
