French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe attended a ceremony to inaugurate France’s International School Alexandre Yersin in Ngoc Thuy street, Long Bien district, Hanoi on November 3.
The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc.
French High School Alexandre Yersin has moved to a new location in Long Bien district since the beginning of the 2018 school year.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the new campus, French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe said he was delighted and honored to attend the inauguration of the new school in a beautiful location. French architecture is present in many places in Hanoi and the former school as well. However, the change of location not only suited to the development needs of the capital, but also to the needs of the students. He hopes that this new school will become the ideal place for the children to study.
Established in 1982, Alexandre Yersin (LFAY) is one of the largest international schools in Hanoi, located in Ba Dinh district. To meet the demand for better learning and working premises, deserving to be a school of the Agency for French Education Abroad (AEFE), construction of the second facility started in 2016 in Long Bien district on an area of 2.8 hectares.
French High School Alexandre Yersin belongs to a worldwide school network which consists of 492 schools, providing education to hundreds of thousands of students from kindergarten to high school in 137 countries. All AEFE schools are teaching French curriculum.
