More than 200 representatives from travel agencies in Germany started a familiarisation (FAM) trip surveying tourist destinations services in Da Nang, including Ngu Hanh Son (Marble Mountain), Linh Ung Pagoda and various beaches.
The city’s Tourism Promotion Centre said the FAM trip, which was organised by Meier’s Weltreisen company under the Der Touristik Group from Germany, aims to set up tourism connections between the central region and Europe in the coming years.
A conference on the introduction of tourism in Asia will be held in the city on April 20 among local and German travel agencies.
Last year the central city drew in 4.6 million tourists, 1.25 million of whom were foreigners.
Da Nang is close to world heritage sites such as Hoi An, My Son Sanctuary and Cham Island in Quang Nam; the Phong Nha-Ke Bang Cave systems in Quang Binh; and the Hue monuments complex.
The city hosts 24 direct international flights and 14 chartered flights a day.
