Designed by Florentijn Hofman, The Yellow Duck will arrive at Ban Nguyet Lake in District 7, Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam from April 27 to May 31.
Since 2007, this yellow duck has traveled throughout the major cities of Australia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, the U.S., Japan, Brazil, New Zealand, France and Azerbaijan. In its tour, titled, "Spreading joy to the world around us", the duck has been warmly welcomed everywhere it has “landed”. HCM City will be its 16th destination.
Last May, Hong Kong citizens were a little surprised at seeing the duck being deflated.
The Yellow Duck was designed by Florentijn Hofman, a Dutch artist, who has taken the duck to perform in many cities around the world.
Technicians took a month to create the giant duck. Once installed, the duck sits on a pontoon of 15m width. Rubber Duck’s inflation is maintained by an internal pump system connected to a power line located below the water surface.
HCM folk can take pictures with the giant duck from April 27 through the end of May, at the Ban Nguyet Lake in District 7.
