Glamorous beauty of violet flamboyant flowers in Da Lat city

If Da Lat is filled with peach flowers in the spring, the summer is the time for violet flamboyant flowers blooming in many large or small roads in the city.

There is a special flamboyant flower in Da Lat city with violet color always welcomes tourists every year after Vietnamese Lunar New Year. In March, purple flamboyant flower accompany with other flowers contribute to variety of colorful flower in Da Lat city with brand name Da Lat city-the flower city of Vietnam.
Arriving in Da Lat city on the days between March and early April is  the best time to admire the beauty of violet flamboyant flowers for any tourist.
In early summer, flamboyant flowers bloom on the bank of the Xuan Huong Lake, near the Da Lat floating pavilion, along the road to Dalat Market, the valley Love, Hai Ba Trung and Tran Phu roads.

In particular, watching the flamboyant purple in every moment of the day also gives tourists many different emotions.
In summer, Da Lat city weather possesses four seasons in one day. In the dawn, it is engulfed in fog like in spring. In the midday, it is hot like in summer. In the sunset, Dalat is as romantic as it is in the autumn. At night, it is like in the chilly winter.
Flamboyant trees make Da Lat go violet while the pink color of cherry blossoms has faded, the roads of Da Lat resort city, Lam Dong province have now been dyed violet by the bright blooming flowers of the so-called flamboyant trees.
The oldest flamboyant trees in the city of flowers were built in the 1970. Dalat’s elder citizen report that engineer Luong Van Sau, a member of the French Rose Society, was the one who imported the trees into Dalat.

Engineer Sau graduated from the Agriculture University in France in 1962 and returned home with some extremely rare varieties of trees, including four American-sourced violet flamboyant trees.
According to the elderly, these flamboyant trees were grown in Dalat, including one on the bank of the Xuan Huong Lake, near the Da Lat floating pavilion, one on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai road and two others in the city’s park. However, one tree died.
In 1995, Dr. Ha Ngoc Mai Dr. brought  seeds of flamboyant trees from Australia, and then, approximately 3,000 flamboyant trees were grown in Da Lat city.
Since then, Dalat’s gardeners have created thousands of the violet flamboyant trees. The tree has become a symbol of the resort city.
