"Golden moment for Hanoi - Athens relationship" is the message conveyed during a meeting between Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung and Greek Ambassador Nicolaos Kanellos on March 13.

At the reception, the two sides are rejoiced at Vietnam - Greece relationship as well as the two Capitals of Hanoi and Athens, that has been continuously strengthened and developed. Mr. Nicolaos Kanellos said that the Greece Embassy in Hanoi in the coming time will increase human resources, and additional cooperation activities with Vietnam as well as the Capital of Hanoi.
In the context of the visit of the Greek Foreign Minister to Vietnam in February, to reaffirms the message of Athens, ready to be the gateway to Vietnam's access to European markets. The Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA) will also become the basis for promoting bilateral business exchanges. On these platforms, the delegation emphasized: "This is the best time for the two cities of Athens and Hanoi to promote economic, cultural and tourist cooperation." Mr. Nicolaos Kanellos also proposed to organize an exhibition of 40 paintings by him in support of Vietnam Agent Orange victims and expected to receive support from the City People's Committee.
Welcoming suggestions and information from the Ambassador, Chairman of the City People's Committee also agreed that this is the best time for the two countries, the two Capitals to exchange and expand cooperation in the fields of culture, economy, tourism calendar. Asserting that Greece is one of EU important partners, the Chairman of the City People's Committee pledged that Hanoi's Government will work hard this year to increase visits, trade delegations, trade promotion and economy between the two Capitals. Currently, Hanoi Foreign Affairs Department has connected with the Government of Athens Capital through the Vietnamese Embassy in Greece to promote the twinning process and upcoming visits, Nguyen Duc Chung said.
Concerning the proposal to exhibit 40 paintings, the head of the City People's Committee affirmed the willingness to coordinate with the Greece Embassy to organize and provide venues. Supporting the views on trade promotion and tourism between the Greek businessmen and Hanoi, President Nguyen Duc Chung also proposed holding a Greek cultural week in Hanoi and affirming that these are significant activities, increasing intense study between two peoples, two cities. Determining that tourism is one of the key areas for socio-economic development of Hanoi, Hanoi is also expected to exchange learning experiences from Greece in this regard.
Thanks for the warm welcome and support from Hanoi's leaders, the Ambassador affirmed that in his position, he will strive to become a bridge between the two countries and the two Capitals to exchange experience in the field. As well as promoting the two countries in active exchanges active trade.
