The central beach city of Danang led the classification, with 0.9238 points, followed by the neighboring province of Thua Thien-Hue and the northern province of Quang Ninh.
The southern city of Cantho jumped from the 10th place to the fourth in the Index.
Ho Chi Minh City climbed two positions, finishing fifth in the Index. The four southern provinces of Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Lam Dong, Tay Ninh, and Ninh Thuan were the last in the top 10.
The southern province of Binh Duong entered the top 10 for the first time, while the southern province of Long An was demoted from this list.
The Vietnam ICT Index was established in 2005. The indices are divided into three main factors: technical infrastructure, human resources and IT application, which are structured following the United Nations standard.
The report aims to give an outlook of Vietnam’s IT development, which has contributed to the development of Vietnam’s economy for years.
This assessment will help the Vietnamese government, ministries and localities determine the level of competition and the performance of the industry.
