Hanoi announced hotlines to receive food safety-related feedback
On May 17, Vice Director of the municipal Health Department Hoang Duc Hanh said at the press briefing by the municipal Party Committee Propaganda Department organized that Hanoi announced hotlines to receive food safety-related feedback.
Three hotlines for reporting issues related to food safety were launched in Hanoi. Organisations or individuals can call 1900585826, 043 3800115 and 043 9985765 any time of the day or week.
According to Vice Director of the municipal Health Department Hoang Duc Hanh food safety is a complex issue in Hanoi as the city has 59,109 establishments operating in producing, processing and trading food, and a great number of slaughter houses, markets, super markets and commercial centres.
The city’s management force also took 775 samples of food for testing and found 49 of them did not meet microbiological and chemical standards as regulated. The hotlines are expected to help detect food-safety violations, towards improving the efficiency of food safety management and ensuring hygiene.
At the premiere arbitrage of "Together for food safety," the Editor of Economics & Urban Newspaper Nguyen Minh Duc has transmitted the message: "To promote the social responsibility of journalists to condemn, expose organizations and individuals that violate the business related to food safety. At the same time detecting, honoring and promoting individuals, organizations, businesses that have best practices to ensure food safety for consumers. At the mean time calling on individuals, organizations, businesses, especially the departments, districts of Hanoi in close collaboration to enable reporters in a favorable operation and food safety issues.
