Hanoi Book Fair 2017 planned to be opened

The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued Plan 195/KH-UBND dated August 30 on organizing Hanoi Book Fair 2017.

Themed Book and Startup, the Hanoi Book Fair 2017 will open from 8AM to 9PM from September 22 to September 26, expecting to attract 150 to 200 stalls.

Opening ceremony will take place at 8.30AM on September 22, and closing ceremony on September 26 at Thang Long Imperial Citadel (19C Hoang Dieu Street, Ba Dinh District).


 
The book fair will introduce books on startup, knowledge and experience in the process of startup, books of foreign publishers, and different kinds of books of Vietnamese publishers, including books in the fields of literature, society and culture, economy, science and technology, medicine, foreign languages, along with e-books and digital devices.

There are also side events, such as seminars, discussions and exchanges between readers with authors, researchers and enterprises, focusing on startup, reading culture, reading skills and method. Representatives of international publishing organizations and associations will be invited to the fair, and attend talks on development trend of publishing industry and experience to organize and attend international book fairs. Participating units can take part in exchange activities, sign cooperation agreements, trade and exchange book copyright.

The book fair will call on participating units and readers to donate books for mountainous and disadvantaged areas. Organized annually, Hanoi Book Fair contributes to improving reading culture, encouraging book reading among the people, and building elegant, civilized lifestyle of Hanoians. It also contributes to popularizing revolutionary tradition among the Party, the government and the people.
