The Hanoi People’s Committee will coordinate with the Israeli Embassy and FPT Group to hold a workshop themed "Creating Vietnam`s startup ecosystem - A practical lesson from Israel" in the city on September 21.

This information was announced by Director of Hanoi Center for information technology trading Vu Tan Cuong at a press conference in Hanoi on September 13.
More than 200 delegates from the Government, ministries, centrally-run agencies, Hanoi authorities, foreign embassies, international organisations, universities, research institutes, business associations, investment funds and start-up groups are expected to attend the event, making it the largest of its kind in the capital city, he said.
Cuong announced that during the upcoming workshop, Israeli experts will share experience in creating an innovative startup ecosystem at both macro and micro levels and propose action plans to build the startup ecosystem in Vietnam.
The workshop will also seek ways to speed up economic, scientific, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and Israel, he noted.
Specially, a cooperation programme between the Hanoi Business Incubator, the Vietnam Innovative Start-up Accelerator programme and Israel partners is due to be signed on this occasion.
The workshop is expected to strengthen the economic, science, trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam in general and Hanoi in particular with Israel, as well as consult the opinion of representatives of ministries and departments on building policies and specific programmes for startup ecosystem in Vietnam and Hanoi capital.
Earlier, on May 18, 2016, the Prime Minister issued the decision on approving the project "Supporting the national startup ecosystem and innovation by 2025".
To implement the Prime Minister's directive, Hanoi has been actively building mechanisms and policies to create Hanoi's startup ecosystem towards turning the city into a startup capital.
