Hanoi celebrated the 62nd anniversary of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day
Hanoi Department of Health recently held a ceremony to celebrate the 62nd anniversary of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27, 1955-2017).

In recent years, examination and treatment services of the capital city have been developed towards universal healthcare coverage in combination with intensively and high-tech medical service extension.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Kim Tien praised the outstanding achievements of Hanoi health sector in recent years. She also highly appreciated the family doctor models and individual medical records system for locals of Hanoi.
On behalf of city leaders, Chairman Chung has conveyed his best wishes to doctors and medical staffs of the health sector on the occasion of Vietnamese Doctors’ Day, which falls on February 27.
Additionally, he asked the health sector to actively prevent emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases; strengthen food safety management; improve the quality of medical examination and treatment at all levels; promote the modernization and improve health workers' skills, etc.
Saint Paul Hospital, a large multi-field medical complex, is expected to meet international standards in 2018, he added. The city will call for social investment to improve infrastructure and equipment at medical facilities and help the health sector develop high-quality human resources.
On the occasion, one individual of Department of Health received Labor medal, second class of Prime Minister; three collectives and four individuals of the department received Certificates of merit of Prime Minister; 13 collectives of the department received emulation flags of the Hanoi People’s Committee.
