Hanoi - CNN sign communications cooperation for promoting the Capital's image
On December 22, the ceremony of signing a memorandum of propaganda cooperation with Cable News Network CNN (the US) in the period of 2017-2018 for promoting Hanoi`s image took place at Hanoi People`s Committee headquarters.
The signing ceremony was attended by Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Ngo Van Quy, along with representatives of relevant departments of Hanoi. Representative of CNN Ms. Sunita Rajan - Senior Vice President for Asia - Pacific region, Ms. Stacey Rabsatt - Business Director for Southeast Asia and CNN representative in Vietnam.
On behalf of the City People's Committee, Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Mr. Do Dinh Hong has detailed information about the contents of the Memorandum of cooperation. Under the deal, the US channel will help Hanoi produce 30-second promotion videos, 3 and 5 minutes reportages, as well as a 30-minute special programme. These programmes will be broadcast across the Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, North America and South Asia. There will also be categories specifically designated for the Vietnamese capital city on cnn.com, in addition to advertising banners and stories published by CNN accounts on Facebook and Twitter; separate pages to introduce Hanoi such as "Hanoi - Vietnam's Heart", "My Hanoi" or "Hanoi in Angle" on CNN.com and posting on social networks and the banner advertisement.
Cooperation program content is coordinated for implementation, at the same time the company will have an independent research consultancy of the UK on behalf of CNN and Hanoi to conduct surveys and results, brand awareness and perception of the advertising campaign on CNN in Hanoi to ensure effectiveness in promoting the implementation process to the international community. The image of Hanoi is expected to reach 420 million families across the globe via the CNN.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said this event is of great significance, is more interested in the people of Hanoi. Based on the production of content, advertising people, Hanoi's culture, the capital city will promote the content associated with the people, the country of Vietnam.
Through the signing, CNN will make the world not only a better understanding of Hanoi in particular, but Vietnam in general. Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung expressed expectations, the cooperation between the Hanoi People's Committee with CNN will be taken place successfully.
An UK-based independent research company will survey and report outcomes of the communications campaign to both sides involved. Speaking at the signing ceremony, Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said the campaign will bring Hanoi closer to international viewers and potential investors, adding his belief in the final success.
