Hanoi create trust for start-ups

Previously, Hanoi has had many breakthroughs in administrative reforms, creating a good business environment for startup development.

The start-up environment in Hanoi is developing strongly, forming strong belief in start-up community for future activities.

Reality has proven that Hanoi with its start up environment are forming a good platform for startup community to develop significantly. Many associations which aim to assist startup enterprises have been established. Indeed, they have helped the community considerably, and many startup projects have attracted the attention of many investors, a positive sign for the development of startup environment in Hanoi. The meeting between the Hanoi People’s Committee and the startup enterprise and creative startup community led by the Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, has received high assessment from the general enterprise community, and startup community in particular. Highly valuing the idea to work for startup community in Hanoi, Mr. Tran Thai Duong, CEO of Neotech Company affirmed that, this movement is a very positive and active sign, and is creating conveniences for the startup environment in Hanoi. “Hopefully, policies will be concretized even more, or other regulations become more direct and transparent to assist enterprises to solve further issues,” – Mr. Duong stated. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Nguyen Van, the Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Association of Supporting Industries, Director of the Hanoi Center for Supporting Industries confirmed that: Policies and guidelines of Hanoi are promoting startup nationwide. Hanoi, in particular, is going to become a startup city. Many associations in Hanoi are following the guidelines and crating many centers to support start up enterprises. The center is operating with the orientation to support the youth, students of universities and colleges in Hanoi.

Incubator similiar to school

As one of 12 outstanding projects chosen to look for investors by Hanoi Information & Communications Department, Dr. Bui Thien Ha, representative of the project “Categorize trash right from start, creating civilized habit in categorizing trash for citizens” said, the project is based on Information technology to solve the social problem which is causing headache in urban areas.  However, Dr. Bui Thien Ha expressed his hope that investors will support the project. With this being said, head of the incubator’s management board Vu Tan Cuong informed, incubator is similar to school which can partially support for start-ups to overcome difficulties in accessing capital, as well as attracting investors for feasible projects. Incubator looks for outstanding projects, which then equip start-ups with basic knowledge and develop strategy, enhance management capabilities, so that start-ups can compete and flourish in the future. “Hanoi Incubator has qualified experts to support start-ups overcoming difficulties in initial phases, so that they can stay on the market” – Mr. Cuong said.

Mr. Nguyen Van said, in the project of developing Hanoi creative start-ups, which the city is focusing on, there will be specific capital funds to support start-up organizations. At the same time, he convinced through transformation from idea to action, Hanoi will create a favorable environment for start-up community.
