Uncle Lap said he returned to Greece from Vietnam in 1965 to take care of his old mother, but he always follows Vietnam’s current situation via internet, Fecebook, among other media.
When in good health, he actively participated in charitable activities to support the Vietnamese people. He joined the Greek Communist Party and acted as a liaison between the two governments of Greece and Vietnam with many concrete deeds to nurture the friendship between Vietnam and Greece. "Vietnam is always in my heart," Lap said.
He stressed he is happy when Vietnam’s renovation process has attained many successes and Vietnamese people's living standards have been improved and also concerned about negative phenomena in Vietnamese society.
