Vietnamese hero Kostas Sarantidis Nguyen Van Lap warmly welcomed the delegation at his own house, a gesture that moved the whole team to tears.

They were even more surprised and impressed to find Uncle Lap's house, which is a Vietnamese-style apartment decorated with certificates of merit, photos, souvenirs, books which are all from Vietnam.
Uncle Lap said he returned to Greece from Vietnam in 1965 to take care of his old mother, but he always follows Vietnam’s current situation via internet, Fecebook, among other media.

He stressed he is happy when Vietnam’s renovation process has attained many successes and Vietnamese people's living standards have been improved and also concerned about negative phenomena in Vietnamese society.
All members of Hanoi delegation were moved to witness a Greek who had devoted his youth to the Vietnam’s national liberation. Leaving Vietnam 54 years ago but the hero's love for the country remains intact.
