Hanoi to display high altitude fireworks on New Year’s Eve

The high-altitude fireworks will last for 15 minutes (from 12am to 12.15am on January 1, 2021) in three districts in Hanoi.

Hanoi People's Committee has issued Official Letter No. 5855 / UBND-KGVX on December 24, 2020 on organizing fireworks display to welcome the New Year of 2021.

Accordingly, the high-altitude fireworks will last for 15 minutes (from 12am to 12.15am on January 1, 2021) in three areas of Hoan Kiem Lake (Hoan Kiem district), Thong Nhat Park (Hai Ba Trung district), My Dinh Stadium (Nam Tu Liem district).

The document stated that in order to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere among people and foreigners in Hanoi on the occasion of New Year's Eve 2021, celebrate the achievement of the 13th National Congress of the Party as well as welcoming major local and national holidays in 2021, Hanoi will organize pyrotechnic shows to celebrate the 2021 New Year in the city.

To ensure the safety of fireworks display, the City People's Committee assigned the High Command of Hanoi to take responsibility and urgently coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports, the people's committees of Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Nam Tu Liem districts and related units on  a firework display plan at the three mentioned locations.

The fireworks funding are sourced from private sector, including donations from the city organization and individuals.
