Hanoi enables different religions to develop

On March 17th, the chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee – Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung has met Mr. Gerrit W.Gong – the president of Quorum of Seventy, the representative of Mormon Church in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung introduced about the overview of Hanoi capital to Mr. Gerrit W.Gong. Hanoi, with the history of more than 1000 years, has preserved cultural and traditional value as well as constantly developed to be an increasingly morden and civilized city. After 30 years of renewal, Hanoi has made many great advances, of which, Hanoi has achieved the highest economic growth throughout the country in 2016.
Expressing the honor of being welcomed by the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee, Mr. Gerrit W.Gong is impressed by the beauty of each street as well as roads in Hanoi. In addition, Mr. Gerrit W. Gong also informed that the Mormon Church is an international one, and their members are always guided and encouraged to be good citizens, to execute and contribute to the policies of the local government wherever they are.
Mr. Gerrit W.Gong said that in the future, the church will organize cultural exchange programs through art shows, exchange experience as well as high technology on generation conservation methods. Moreover, the church will also invite foreign teachers to schools in Vietnam to teach English.

Appreciating the Church-sponsored humanitarian activities throughout the country, the Chairman Nguyen Duc Chung said that many activities have brought better life quality to many families in Vietnam, in general, and Hanoi, in particular. Thanks to the great contribution from religious members in general as well as from the members of the Mormon Church, Hanoi capital has been increasingly developped. The Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee hopes that activities of the church in Vietnam will be more and more developed. The Hanoi government always facilitates all religions to operate and flourish.
The Chairman – Nguyen Duc Chung, by his prestige and power, hope that Mr. Gerrit W.Gong as well as his members will lead their faithful to execute policies and laws, as well as contribute to the 1000-year-of-civilization capital. Furthermore, he hopes that the Church will have more humanitarian activities and support experience on cultural preservation for Hanoi in particular and Vietnam in general.
