Hanoi: Ensuring traffic order and safety during holiday

Vice Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen The Hung signed the Official Letter No. 1735 / UBND-ĐT on the needs of people and ensure traffic safety during the holiday of April 30 - May 1, 2017.



Accordingly, to carry out the key tasks of traffic order and safety in the second quarter of 2017 with the goal of reducing traffic accidents on all three criteria and reducing traffic jams in the city, the Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee asked City Police to strengthen patrol, control and severely punish violations of traffic safety and actions that might cause traffic accidents; cooperate closely with the Department of Transport to control and handle violations of technical standards, speeding and overloading; punish bus rapid transit lane violations; detect traffic violations via cameras, etc,

Additionally, the City Police should mobilize manpower to guide transport, prevent traffic congestion especially on upcoming holiday of Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1), summer vacation for students and the 2017 national high school exam. State management shall be increased, focusing on registration and inspection of technical standards for vehicles at motor vehicles registration centers in Hanoi.

The committee assigned the Department of Transport to continue to speed up the inspection of the implementation of traffic safety regulations for transportation business units; closely monitor the operation of transport companies specializing in road and internal waterways, especially passenger services; continue applying information technology in supervising, managing, organizing and monitoring traffic as well as in warning of and responding to cases of emergencies.
