Hanoi expands employment opportunities through interprovincial job exchanges
Online job sessions hosted by Hanoi help break geographic barriers and boost regional labor force mobility.
THE HANOI TIMES — Hanoi solidifies its role as a labor hub by holding interprovincial job fairs to help job seekers find work and businesses locate qualified candidates more successfully.
The Hanoi Center for Employment Service on July 14 connected its 15 employment exchange platforms in the capital with centers in six northern provinces, including Ninh Binh, Thai Nguyen, Quang Ninh, Cao Bang, and Lang Son.

The fair brought together 99 recruiters who offered nearly 15,700 job openings in various sectors, including trade, services, manufacturing, technology, healthcare, and overseas labor programs.
Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Center for Employment Service, said that by using digital platforms to close geographic gaps, the session expanded job access, especially for young and unemployed workers.

Thai Nguyen had the highest demand among participating localities with over 9,200 open positions, reflecting the strong development of its industrial zones. Ninh Binh followed with over 3,300, ahead of Lang Son and Quang Ninh.
In Hanoi, employers posted 1,001 job listings, 66.7% of which were in trade and services.
Thanh said: "This reflects the capital’s strong shift toward a service-driven economy and offers opportunities for recent graduates and entry-level workers."

The center reported that 47.1% of the total vacancies were for young workers aged 18-25, indicating high demand for adaptable young talent in roles requiring digital, communication, and sales skills.
Nguyen Thi Ha Phuong, a 20-year-old factory worker currently employed in Hanoi, came to the job fair hoping to find a position near her hometown of Thai Nguyen, one of the provinces connected through the online session.
"I hoped to find a similar job at a company closer to home. The salary may be slightly lower than what I earn now, but I won’t have to pay rent, and I’ll be near my parents,” she said.
"I've already received a job offer. But I’m still exploring other opportunities since this job fair offers many attractive positions for recent graduates like me,” said Nguyen Hong Nam, a recent graduate of the National Economics University.
Salary offerings varied widely. About 35% of the positions offered monthly incomes of VND15 million (US$574) or more, which were typically for technical experts, managers, or workers preparing for overseas placements.
Another 24.8% of roles paid between VND10 million ($382.5) and VND15 million ($573.7), suited to experienced professionals and supervisory positions.
The largest share, at 37%, offered salaries between VND7 million ($267.8) and VND10 million ($382.5), matching roles such as office staff, accountants, and skilled technicians.
Reputable companies featured at the job session included Chika Ninh Binh International Trading Service Co., Ltd., Vietnam Vaccination JSC (VNVC), TNH Lang Son Hospital, DBG Technology, IVC Architecture and Construction JSC, and Dat Xanh Group JSC.
These firms offered a wide range of positions, including department heads, specialists, production workers, mechanics, marketers, doctors, drivers, and garment workers.
Several others, such as Lap Huy Manufacturing Co., Ltd., joined the hiring platform for the first time.
Hoang Lien, Deputy Director of Lap Huy Manufacturing Co., Ltd. in Hanoi’s Dong Ngac Ward, said: "As we expand our operations, we are looking to fill new positions with attractive salary and bonus packages. We hope that the center will introduce more candidates to support our expansion efforts.”
He said that the capital’s labor market is poised for further growth, driven by positive developments in the service sector, tourism, public investment, and foreign direct investment.
High demand for labor is expected in sectors such as tourism and hospitality, healthcare services, manufacturing, and trade.
To meet this demand, the center will continue to host job fairs and share market data with job seekers, including those affected by public sector restructuring.
In the first half of 2025, the Hanoi Center for Employment Service organized 128 job fairs, garnering participation from 4,084 employers and nearly 40,000 job seekers. More than 18,600 workers were interviewed on-site, and over 4,300 were recruited.
During the same period, Hanoi helped over 125,000 people find jobs, fulfilling 74% of its 2025 target.
