Hanoi: Free check-ups offered to ethnic minority

Free medical check-ups and medicines were provided for 1,200 ethnic minority people in the districts of Thach That, Quoc Oai and Chuong My, Hanoi.

The health checks were conducted by 50 doctors at communal health care centres and the Yen Binh Clinic in Yen Binh Commune, Thach That district. 

Under the programme, 300 presents were also given to disadvantaged children in the mountainous areas in Thach That district. 

Over the past three years, the municipal Youth Union, Committee on Ethnic Minority Affairs and the municipal Health Department have offered free check-ups and medicine to nearly 3,700 disadvantaged people. 

Numerous activities have also been organised in the mountainous areas in Hanoi, such as art performances, cultural exchanges, sport games.
