Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Nguyen Doan Toan said the exhibition is a good opportunity for handicraft and gift producers and traders to meet, seek new customers, partners, and sign memoranda of understanding, agreements, and contracts.
The event shows efforts and commitments Hanoi has made to building a government of facilitation and to providing support for local businesses and trade villages, he added. The four-day event is expected to receive around 600 highly capable importers from various countries and territories around the world, including the US, the European Union, Japan, Russia.
Cao Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, suggested the city focus on incentives for trade villages and instructed the municipal Department of Industry and Trade to continue to organise the annual event and make it a leading export fair in terms of scale and quality.
