A highlight of the ceremony was an epic art program with musical and dance performances that depicted the history of the army's founding, battles, and victories. The program also emphasized the crucial role of the army in national construction and defense.
The grand ceremony was held by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the National Assembly, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Central Military Commission, and the Ministry of National Defense.
Hoan Kiem District celebrated the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army on December 21. Pham Tuan Long, Chairman of the district People's Committee, said that over the past 80 years, the armed forces have always demonstrated the courage of a revolutionary army born of the people and fighting for the people.
"As the core force in building national defense and protecting the Fatherland, the armed forces of Hoan Kiem District must thoroughly master the Party's military and defense views and policies in the new situation. They are engaged in production and contributing to economic, cultural, and social development. This is an extremely heavy and glorious task for the cadres, officers, and soldiers of the People's Armed Forces," Long said.

At the ceremony, a documentary film reviewing the historic battles and achievements of the Vietnam People's Army was shown. It was an opportunity to express gratitude to generations of officers and soldiers of the army stationed in the district.
Nguyen Truong Son, Chairman of the Quoc Oai District People's Committee, emphasized that the 80th anniversary of the Vietnamese People's Army is an important celebration for the nation and the inheritance of the nation's history of struggle and defense.

In a solemn and proud atmosphere, the leaders and delegates of Ung Hoa District reviewed the heroic tradition of the Vietnam People's Army through 80 years of building, fighting, and growing.
Bui Thi Thu Hien, Secretary of the Ung Hoa District Party Committee, said that under the leadership of the Hanoi Capital Command, the armed forces of Ung Hoa District are being strengthened ever more politically and ideologically to carry out all assigned tasks with excellence.
"The district focuses on implementing the military policy, building a solid national defense, fighting to defeat all plots of hostile forces, and maintaining political and social stability in the locality," Hien said.

An exhibition commemorating the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese People's Army has opened in the pedestrian zone around Hoan Kiem Lake in Hanoi.
The exhibition draws on Vietnam's advanced cultural and artistic expressions to highlight the role of military culture and art in the revolutionary cause of the nation, in national construction and defense, and in building a people's defense.
The Vietnam People's Army was founded on December 22, 1944, under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh, with the mission of safeguarding the nation's independence, freedom, and territorial integrity.
The army won many legendary exploits, including the victories of the revolution in August 1945, the Dien Bien Phu campaign in 1945 against French colonialism, and the Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975 against American imperialism. All of them were decisive for national liberation and reunification.
In peacetime, the army has been actively involved in socio-economic development, helping to build infrastructure, promoting rural modernization, supporting poverty alleviation programs, and participating in disaster relief and search and rescue operations. Many military units have joined United Nations peacekeeping missions, enhancing Vietnam's international standing.
