Hanoi honored outstanding female officials

These women have made significant achievements in their fields of work, ranging from public security, business, sports, education, and health.

More than 1,000 women officials and union members who have made outstanding contributions to Hanoi were honored this week at a festival held by the Hanoi Labor Confederation.

The event, which was held on the occasion of International Women's Day [March 8], was aimed at praising excellent women in the emulation movement called "Good at Country Work - Good at Housework" in 2023.

Speaking at the event, Pham Quang Thanh, Chairman of the Hanoi Labor Confederation, said that nearly 400,000 female workers and employees are active in all positions, from management to intellectual and production; they are constantly promoting their role and ability to actively contribute to the development of the capital city and the country.

He urged all union members to unite, do good deeds, and actively contribute to the construction and development of the capital.

Thanh expressed his belief that each female employee will be an example and a propagandist for the qualities of Vietnamese women in the new era, promoting capacity and intelligence in work and production, affirming their position in the cause of innovation, contributing to the socio-economic development of the capital and the country.

On the occasion of March 8, the Hanoi Labor Confederation provided 1,968 women union members in difficult circumstances with VND1.9 trillion (US$77 million) in assistance.

The Hanoi trade unions also encouraged women workers and employees to emulate good work and creative work, to study actively to improve their qualifications in all fields, and to build a prosperous and happy family.

Recently, the union has organized seminars and talks on life skills, self-protection, good parenting, and building a happy family, or topics directly related to women workers.
