Hanoi: information technology startup ecosystems is considered the priority No.1

That is the opinion of Chairman of Hanoi People`s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung at the meeting with Mr. Stefan Sjoestroem - Vice President of Microsoft Corporation in Asia, to evaluate the results of the two sides` cooperation.

At the meeting, Chairman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Duc Chung said that the progress of building e-government for Hanoi is on schedule. Currently, Hanoi is the leading unit in the country and achieved the fastest results. Hanoi has set up a network for the whole city, especially security is considered the priority number 1.

Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Nguyen Duc Chung has expressed his hope for cooperation with Microsoft to turn the city into a technology incubator.

The Chairman said that the Vietnamese Capital city’s plan to build an e-government is being carried out on schedule and at the fastest pace nationwide. Hanoi attaches importance to building a startup ecosystem, especially in information technology, and wants Microsoft’s cooperation in this field, he said.

A software industrial park invested by Vietnam’s Vingroup will be built in Hanoi soon, Chung noted, asking Microsoft to cooperate in making the park an innovation technology zone. He pledged that the local administration will provide the best possible conditions for the development of information technology.

Mr. Stefan Sjoestroem expressed his impression on Hanoi's IT achievements, and highly appreciated ideas and solutions of Hanoi that is implementing e-government. He also asserted that security in IT applications is very important. "Microsoft spent $50 billion researching and developing the safest security programs," said Stefan Sjoestroem. Microsoft has set out goals and programs to support Hanoi in training security and technology.

According to Stefan Sjoestroem, in today's world skills and human resources on security are rare. Therefore, this is an opportunity to build Hanoi into a source of human resources for the security sector. Because software development personnel in Vietnam is the best in the world and if there is proper investment in the field, Vietnam can share human resources for the world.
