Hanoi International Film Festival 2022 to open in November

The festival will promote a safe, friendly, and hospitable Vietnam. A wide range of awards will be presented at the event, honoring the best film, director, actor, and actress.

The sixth Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) will take place from November 8 to 12 in Hanoi, announced the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MOCST) on July 18.

Themed “Cinematography - Integration - Sustainable Development”, the five-day event will honor outstanding movies and promote cooperation between filmmakers for the development of the country’s movie industry.

“Works of high artistic value, rich in humanity and creativity will be screened at this year's film festival,” according to a representative from MOCST.

“The 6th Hanoi International Film Festival plays an important role in promoting the image of a safe, friendly, and hospitable Vietnam, but one of no less dynamism, integration and development,” he added.

Through these films, the organizer wishes to disseminate about Hanoi as a member of the UNESCO Network of Creative Cities, a capital city with a long history, a place of convergence, crystallization and diffusion of national cultural values.

This year’s festival will feature a world cinema panorama program, an event introducing the UK’s films, the screening of contemporary Vietnamese movies as well as a HANIFF script-writing camp, exhibitions and seminars.

A wide range of awards will be presented at the event, honoring the best film, director, actor and actress.

HANIFF is a major cinema event held every two years in Hanoi, by MOCST's Cinema Department and Hanoi's Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

It aims to honor outstanding films of high artistic value and encourage new talents in Vietnamese cinema while providing a platform for Vietnamese and foreign movie artists to share professional expertise.
