Hanoi is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for Japanese businesses
On March 10 morning, the discussion on cooperation, promotion, investment and tourism between Hanoi and Japan has taken place in Melia Hanoi Hotel.

In particular, the introduction on environment and investment opportunities in Hanoi, announcement on the list of projects attracting investment to promote the attraction of foreign direct investment from Japan to Hanoi; Assisting businesses to do business in the tourism sector, and seeking experienced and qualified investors to invest in projects in Hanoi, thereby perfecting urban infrastructure, strengthening the socio-economic development of the Capital. In addition, strengthening the friendly cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the framework of activities in line with the general orientation of the Government in the "Vietnam-Japan Joint Statement on establishing a deep strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia."
The seminar saw the attendance of about 250 delegates. On behalf of the Vietnamese, there are representatives: Mr. Vu Tien Loc, Chairman of VCCI; Mr. Nguyen Duc Chung, Hanoi Party Secretary, Chairman of the City People's Committee together with leaders of some ministries, branches, concerned provinces and cities, 40 enterprises of Hanoi. Representatives from Japan included Mr. Jijima Isao - Assistant to the Prime Minister (Special Advisor); Representatives from ministries, agencies, organizations and Japanese enterprises operating in Hanoi.

Speaking at the seminar, the Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee affirmed that over 40 years of diplomatic relation establishment, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Japan have been continuously strengthened. The more substantive it is, on the basis of similar strategic interests. In particular, the Capital of Hanoi always attaches great importance and actively promote cooperation in all aspects with Japan. Currently, Japan is the leading foreign direct investment in Hanoi with over 800 projects with a total registered investment capital of about $5.2 billion, including many large projects such as: Thang Long Industrial Park, Canon Group, Aeon Long Bien Trading Center and so on. Public sector in Hanoi has contributed a considerable part to the budget, export turnover and the socio-economic development of the Capital.
Determining Japan as a leading, long-term partner of the City, on June 4, 2016, at the seminar of "Hanoi 2016 - Cooperation of Development and Cooperation", Hanoi People's Committee signed the minutes in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam, in which the city government is committed to create the most favorable conditions for investors, corporations as well as small and medium Japanese enterprises to invest, do long-term business. Hanoi will continue to maintain regular dialogues and promote on-the-spot investment with the Japanese business community to invest in Hanoi.

The Chairman expressed his hope that the seminar "Trade and investment promotion and tourism between Hanoi and Japan" will be an opportunity for localities, enterprises, investors to exchange, understand, connect cooperation. In addition to presenting to Japanese partners, there is potential for development in Vietnam as well as with local leaders of Vietnam on the strengths and policies of economic development and attraction orientation. Investment, tourism promotion of Hanoi is being looked forward to listening, receiving information to better understand the requirements and aspirations.
Iijima Isao, Assistant to the Prime Minister of Japan (Special Advisor), affirmed that following the high-level visit of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe as well as Japanese Emperor and Empress, the relatioship between the two countries is closer and closer. He thanked to the people's government of Vietnam for showing their hospitality to the Japanese Emperor and Empress.
Today's talks play an important role in building good relations between the two countries. By the way, Mr. Iijima Isao summarized some achievements of cooperation between Japan and Hanoi Capital in 2016 as promoting cooperation in the design of the Capital's landscape, completion of investment upgrading, medical facilities research, training of human resources for health. These achievements have strong support of Hanoi People's Committee and Japanese enterprises in the field.
Within the framework of the discussion, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Hanoi People's Committee and Japanese investors and businesses related to trade, tourism and medicine. The MoU includes: (1) MoU between the City People's Committee and the representative of Aeon Group (Japan) on investment in the trade center project in the city; (2) MoU between Tourism Department of Hanoi and National Tourism Organization of Japan on tourism development; (3) MoU between Hanoi Department of Health and Japan TOHO Corporation on the construction of a drug factory in Hanoi; (4) MoU between Hanoi Department of Health and Japan TOHO Corporation for research and consultancy of international drug distribution system for Hanoi; (5) MoU between Green Tree Co., Ltd in Hanoi and Green Wind Co., Japan on the project of coordinating the production and supply of flower seedlings and automatic flower cultivation technique for Hanoi.
