The conference is an opportunity for the capital's vocational training institutions and enterprises to update market development trends and labor market demands, contributing to increasing the rate of trained workers in the city.

The event will attract about 10,000 students/job seekers, including about 8,000 secondary and high school students. Vocational training institutions from Nam Tu Liem, Cau Giay, Dan Phuong and Hoai Duc districts will participate in career guidance and enrollment activities at 70 on-site booths.

Cooperation agreements are expected to be signed at the event between 45 typical companies and vocational training centers.

Hanoi's action plan

In order to create more jobs, the Hanoi People's Committee and the municipal Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs will continue to work on connecting labor supply and demand in various ways in the coming times, according to Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Chu Xuan Dung at an online meeting in August

In the last months of the year, Hanoi continues to strengthen the implementation of solutions to develop the labor market in the new normal, including holding many job fairs and applying information technology in procedures related to unemployment insurance.

In the first 10 months of 2022, Hanoi has created jobs for 183,027 people, achieving 114.4% of the yearly target, up 34% year-on-year, according to the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

The Hanoi Employment Service Center, under the Department, has held 23 job fairs with the participation of 670 entities and companies. Over 14,000 people found employment after interviewing at job sessions.

During the period, the city provided jobs for more than 56,000 workers from the city’s fund entrusted through the Social Policy Bank branch. Some 1,750 workers were sent to work abroad under fixed-term contracts and nearly 110,000 people found work through the job exchange system.

Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Quoc Khanh said that the department has closely coordinated with the city’s relevant agencies to implement research, forecast and assessment of the current labor market situation, development trends and economic impacts in the coming time. Thereby, the city will offer new policies to balance the market supply-demand.
