Hanoi keeps suffering cold spell with temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius

The capital city of Hanoi is forecast to suffer lows of 10-13 degrees Celsius till January 4, 2019.

The cold spell has surrounded northern Vietnam this week and its capital city is still experiencing a biting cold spell with temperatures falling below 10 degrees Celsius on the last day of 2018.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting, early in this morning, strong cold air caused wide cold in North and North Central, the temperature at 1am was measured in some places such as Hanoi 10.0 degrees C, Mau Son (Lang Son) -0.6 degrees C, Sapa (Lao Cai) 3.5 degrees C, Tam Dao (Vinh Phuc) 4.1 degrees C, Trung Khanh (Cao Bang) 3.5 degrees C, among others.

The center said that on December 31 day and night, strong cold air continues to cause widespread cold in the North and North Central with the lowest common temperature of 8-11 degrees Celsius, 4 - 7 degrees Celsius in mountainous provinces, below 3 degrees Celsius in high mountain areas.

The center also said due to the cold spell, showers still hit the north and the north-central region. The capital city of Hanoi is forecast to suffer lows of 10-13 degrees Celsius till January 4, 2019.
