Hanoi launches tech trading platform to connect global innovators

Hanoi is set to launch a tech trading platform aimed at fostering innovation and strengthening global partnerships.

THE HANOI TIMES — The Hanoi Tech Exchange (Phase 2), with an investment of VND53 billion (US$2 million), will serve as a marketplace for technology transfer, research commercialization, and business cooperation.

Approved by the Hanoi People's Committee, the project aims to cement Vietnam's position as a regional innovation hub.

The exchange is based at 258 Vo Chi Cong Street, Tay Ho District, within the Frequent Trading and Inter-agency Complex.

Scheduled for completion in 2025, it will be managed by the Hanoi Project Management Board of Civil Construction Investment and funded by the municipal budget.

The platform will operate through a hybrid model, combining a physical space for exhibitions, conferences, and co-working areas with an online B2B e-commerce system connecting businesses, researchers, and investors worldwide. It is in line with Hanoi's broader strategy to become a "smart city" by 2030, driving digital transformation and economic growth.

Vietnam's technology sector is growing rapidly and attracting significant international investment, according to the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Planning for the exchange was conceived in 2023.
