According to the recent happiness index of MasterCard – a global leading company in payment, Hanoi ranked the fourth with 71 points behind India’s Bangalore (73.2 points), Indonesia`s Jakarta (72.1 points), and India’s New Delhi (71.7 points).
As many as 9,000 people in 33 cities in 17 countries in the Asian-Pacific region were surveyed in the company's study, with the assessment of life satisfaction through four categories: Job and finance, safety from threats, personal happiness, and life satisfaction.
Scores of the four factors range from zero to 100 points.
Hanoi ranked the second in the region in the category of "life satisfaction" with 73.3 points, behind Myanmar's Mandalay city with 84.9 points.
In the term of "Safety from threats", "Job and finance", Hanoi listed fifth and sixth place with 64.3 and 75.7 points respectively.
As for category of "Job and finance", HCM City ranked the third in the region with 77.2 points. For the last item "personal happiness", Hanoi reached 70.9 points, ranked fifth in the region.
