Hanoi makes effort to realize key tasks of traffic safety

The Hanoi People’s Committee has issued the Official Letter 2883/UBND-DT, asking city’s departments, agencies, People’s Committees of districts, suburban districts and towns to perform key task of guaranteeing traffic safety according to Announcement 253/TB-VPCP by the Government’s Office.

This is part of the efforts to realize instruction of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister and Head of National Traffic Safety Committee Truong Hoa Binh, which is given at the National Traffic Safety Committee meeting on ensuring traffic safety in May and tasks in June according to Announcement 253/TB-VPCP dated June 3, 2017 of the Government’s Office. 

Accordingly, ministries, sectors, unions, member units of the National Traffic Safety Committee, social and political organizations, and mass media agencies in central and localities shall enhance information work on traffic safety and order among grassroots, communes, wards, townships and residential areas. 

Special attention is paid to the people prone to causing traffic accidents, such as bus drivers and young people in rural areas. Effort shall be increased to implement this announcement; report submitted monthly and quarterly to the National Traffic Safety Committee, so that the Committee could sum up information and report to the Prime Minister.

In response to the document, the Hanoi People’s Committee assigns Department of Transport (standing agency of the Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee) in coordination with Hanoi Police Department, People’s Committees of districts, suburban districts and towns and relevant units to take practical and effective measures according to traffic conditions of the city as well as instruction of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh, and regularly report to the National Traffic Safety Committee.
