Hanoi: Night tour to Thang Long Imperial Citadel for foreign traveler launched

The new tourism product can offer international travelers a different perspective of the famous relic by visiting it at night.

The Thang Long-Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center has launched a new night tour titled "Night at Thang Long Imperial Palace - A Fascinating Experience," which takes visitors through a period of more than 13 centuries in Vietnam's history.

The night tour departs at 6:0 a.m. every Tuesday and Thursday. Travelers could also book their own tours in advance.

The 120-minute travel itinerary will help visitors enjoy the splendid beauty of the monument at night, discover the unique artistic values of Vietnamese royal architecture and enjoy royal cuisine.

From the Main Gate, the entrance to the Forbidden Zone where Vietnamese feudal kings and queens lived, travelers tour the archaeological excavation area and admire the elegant and exclusive antiques in a magnificent exhibition.

More experience is observed when visiting the Kinh Thien Palace, the most sacred place in the relic, where many important royal rituals were held, such as welcoming foreign emissaries, the king's coronation ceremony, and important royal gatherings, among others.

It is said that the Kinh Thien Palace was built under the Late Le Dynasty (from 1428 to 1789). Visiting groups will perform an incense offering ceremony, expressing gratitude to the kings who built the Imperial Citadel.

Visitors will also be brought to a puppetry show, a royal meal under the canopy of the Bodhi tree, and souvenir products representing luck and prosperity.

According to Nguyen Thi Chi, Deputy Director of Thang Long- Hanoi Heritage Conservation Center, the night tour for local visitors to Thang Long Imperial Citadel, which was first launched in April this year, has been well received and appreciated by the public.

“Hopefully, the newly launched night tour will help enrich the local tourism activities, attracting more international visitors to Hanoi and Vietnam,” she said.
